The Peak District Wind Band (formerly High Peak Wind Band), is the senior wind ensemble of the Peak District Music Centres and comprises around 50 players from the Peak District in the heart of the UK.

Ensemble Director: Gareth Widdowson

Rehearsal Venue: Lady Manners School

The band rehearses weekly and performs frequent concerts in the surrounding area as well as embarking on European tours; recent venues include Lake Garda in Italy, Austria, and in Summer 2014 the Leipzig area of Germany. They play a varied repertoire, drawing on original wind ensemble pieces by English and American composers such as Ralph Vaughan Williams, Gustav Holst and Phillip Sparke; as well as arrangements of orchestral works by composers such as Brahms, Debussy and Malcolm Arnold; and compilations of film and show music by such as John Williams, Howard Shore, Hans Zimmer and Steven Sondheim.

Many senior players go on to study music at university or music college.
